..many ppl are driven by resentment and anger. they hold on to hurts and never get over them. instead of releasing their pain through forgiveness, they rehearse it over and over in their minds. some resentment-driven people "clam up" and internalise their anger, while others "blow up" and explode it onto others. both responses are unhealthy and unhelpful. resentment always hurts you more than it does the person u resent. while ur offender has probably forgotten the offence and gone on with life, u continue to stew in ur pain, perpetuating the past. those who have hurt u in e past cant continue to hurt u now unless u hold on to the pain thru resentment. haha, i think e above applies to me.. and it seems quite true.. yes, we are products of our past, but we dun need to be prisoners of them. well said! i got the 感触颇深 kinda feeling again.. hahaha.
currently reading a book on e purpose-driven life.. a really gd bk.. hope that i'll start 08 on a positive note, with e purpose in life. cos without a purpose, life is motion without meaning, activity without direction, and events without reason. without a purpose, life is trivial, petty and pointless.
what then is ur purpose in life and what drives you? =)
